On September 10, the daily sea-rail combined trains of the "Silk Road Sea Transport" surpassed 2,000 trips. As a representative product combining the "Maritime Silk Road" and the "Land Silk Road," the trains first started operation in March 2023, running daily between Nanchang and Xiamen. Connecting CRE trains with maritime transport, the full journey takes less than 24 hours and can reduce logistics costs by over 20%.
Xiamen serves as an important hub for CRE trains and sea-rail combined transport in Fujian province. As of now, CRE trains (Xiamen) have operated 1,378 trips, transporting 122,200 TEUs of goods with a total value exceeding USD 5.249 billion. The operations have established featured sea-rail combined transport lines, including stone exports from Macheng, Hubei to Xiamen, furniture exports from Nanping, Fujian to Xiamen, and fertilizer exports from Sanming, Fujian to Xiamen.
