According to CR, passenger and freight transport across the national railway network continued to rise steadily in July, with transport safety remaining stable, effectively meeting the demand for passenger travel during the summer season and ensuring the supply of goods.

　　For passenger transport, since the start of the summer travel period, demand for student, tourism and family visits has remained strong, keeping passenger traffic at a high level. In July, the national railway network handled 455 million passenger trips, up 6.6% year-on-year, and achieved a passenger turnover of 177.069 billion passenger-kilometers, up 5.7% year-on-year. In the first seven months of this year, the national railway network handled 2.691 billion passenger trips, up 6.7% year-on-year, with a passenger turnover of 976.65 billion passenger-kilometers, up 3.3% year-on-year.

　　For freight transport, in July, the national railway network transported 452 million tons of cargo, up 4.5% year-on-year, and achieved a freight turnover of 304.217 billion ton-kilometers, up 6.5% year-on-year. By category, coal transport reached 235 million tons and container transport reached 93 million tons, up 3.3% and 16.4% year-on-year respectively. The efficient transport of key materials strongly supported the stable operation of the national economy.

　　It is reported that in the first seven months of this year, fixed asset investment in the national railway sector reached 433 billion yuan, up 5.6% year-on-year, with railway planning and construction advancing efficiently.
