Starting July 18, a new pair of international passenger trains was added between Kunming and Vientiane on the China-Laos Railway. The new trains use power-concentrated Fuxing EMU trains with a maximum speed of 160 km/h, running daily in both directions. This increases the number of daily international passenger trains between Kunming and Vientiane to four. On April 13, 2023, the China-Laos Railway launched international passenger services, with one daily train each way between Kunmingnan Railway Station and Vientiane Railway Station. As of July 15 this year, the China-Laos Railway has transported a total of 540,000 cross-border passengers, becoming an important channel for convenient travel between China, Laos and surrounding countries and regions.
