As of early August, Alataw Pass of CR-Urumqi had handled 10.288 million tons of imports and exports this year, up 4.2% year-on-year, achieving the target 9 days earlier than last year.

　　This year, Alataw Pass has continued to promote the development of a "smart port" and improve customs clearance efficiency. Through joint operations of railway, customs and border inspection departments, along with information sharing and coordinated supervision, clearance efficiency has been significantly improved, supporting stable growth in freight volume. Exports include new energy vehicles, mechanical and electrical products, high-tech goods and daily consumer goods, while imports are mainly bulk commodities.

　　To ensure smooth trade flows, Alataw Pass has strengthened the China-Kazakhstan coordination mechanism, allowing it to obtain cargo information 72 hours in advance, arrange railcar supply, and dynamically allocate personnel and equipment with units of CR-Urumqi. Priority unloading policies, giving preference to block trains, centralized shipments and full trainloads, have reduced turnaround times and increased efficiency.

　　"Since the beginning of this year, we have strengthened precise dispatching, optimized operations, and coordinated every link from train reception and cargo transfer to customs documentation. This ensures smooth train handling and continues to enhance the efficiency of cross-border transport," said Yan Huapeng, director of Alataw Pass's operations workshop.

　　Since the second line of the Jinghe-Alashankou section of the Lanzhou-Urumqi High Speed Railway was fully opened last year, the port's infrastructure capacity has been further enhanced. Currently, Alataw Pass handles 124 freight routes, reaching 21 countries including Germany and Poland.
